About us

We are a speculative fiction convention that is invested in all kinds of media. You will find panels and discussion about games, film, literature, and graphic novels. If you are interested in science fiction or fantasy of almost any flavour, we will have something for you.

  • Michael O'Brien

    Michael O'Brien is Vice President of Chaosium Inc., the publisher of acclaimed and award-winning roleplaying games, board games, fiction and comics that was founded in 1975 by visionary game designer Greg Stafford. O'Brien's role encompasses creative development, community outreach and commissioning new board games and fiction.

  • Fe Waters

    Fe has been a member of fandom since she joined UniSFA in 1990, who finally made it to Swancon in 1995, and hasn’t left yet. In recent years, Fe has been busy establishing the Family Programme and in 2013 she was recognised with the Mumfan Award.

  • Jane Espenson

    Jane Espenson (@JaneEspenson) is known for her work as a television writer/producer. She has written for Dinosaurs, Ellen, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse,The O.C., Gilmore Girls, Tru Calling, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, and Game of Thrones among other shows. She also writes comic books, short stories, and currently writes for Once Upon a Time.

  • Lian Hearn

    Three names and three careers as a writer. Gillian Hanson was a freelance journalist, arts editor and film critic in London and Sydney in the late 60s and 70s. In 1981 Gillian returned to writing, under her married name of Gillian Rubinstein. Her first novel, Space Demons, was published in 1986. In 1993 Gillian made her first trip to Japan, which inspired her to start writing the Tales of the Otori, published under the pen name Lian Hearn.
